Resin Flooring - Strong, Durable and Stylish

Are you looking for a strong, durable and stylish flooring system? Resin flooring has all of these features. It has the advantage of being tough as well as having a degree of inherent flexibility.

Resins for Different Applications

We offer products for different applications - home, office, swimming pool, school, garage, library, gym, restaurant and retail environments. For any property one of the most important things that you can do is look after the quality of your flooring. Not only will you be using it constantly, it will also be one of the first things that people notice. Naturally the floor stands out from the rest of the room and quality resin flooring can look stunning as well as give your home the kind of quality and validity that you would always be hoping to see.

Resin Floors And Stairs

We can apply resin over existing tiled or wooden floors regardless of their size. Staircases are also possible to match the floors, whether it’s for a living room, bedroom, hallway, kitchen, playroom, recreational room, bathroom, wet room or shower room area.

Fermacell Boards

We recommend our floors are laid on timber substrate with an overlay of Fermacell 2E11 Boards. These specialist boards are thermally more efficient and eliminate the shrinkage which in time may effect ordinary plywood. In addition to timber substrate we can go over any sturdy crack free screed. Talk to us if you need advice about this. Fermacell 2E11 Overlay Boards can be located through an online search.

Underfloor Heating Compatible

Our floors are suitable for use with all modern underfloor heating systems for exceptional underfoot comfort. Everything you need to know about underfloor heating can be found in these useful step-by-step guides from Underfloor Heating Experts and Homebuilding & Renovating.

Substrates, Screeds and Floor Curing

Chasingspace Resin Floor systems can be installed on any substrate providing the substrate is free of movement and moisture free. Cured concrete substrates should provide a fully functional damp proof membrane and any moisture levels should meet our requirements. Normally a concrete screed needs a period of 30 days to fully dry out in favourable environments. The strength of the concrete should be 30N/mm2, offering a flexible tensile strength of 1.3N/mm2. Moisture is our main enemy so we insist it is no greater than 4% when measured using a Calcium Carbide method at the time of laying. Resin floors need 24hrs to reach a dry/cure level acceptable for light traffic. The full chemical cure takes up to 7 days.

Durometer Shore Hardness Scale

Shore Hardness scales measure the hardness of various materials. Read all about the different Shore Hardness scales and their application.

Resin with Acoustic Properties

We can reduce sound transmission through the use of an elastic sound dampening layer which sits under the resin. This is great for gyms as it is softer and absorbs impact. This treatment lends itself to libraries and is fantastic for the home where a pleasing appearance, high walking comfort and minimum noise levels - despite a large number of people passing through - are equally important. We use harder products for garages which require more resistance to heavy weights and wear and tear. So too in shops and offices where high footfall is a consideration. Our resin flooring is combined with a proprietary shock pad allowing us to achieve results that are softer with less sound transmission. Contact us to learn about your new quieter flooring system.

UV Seal Coats for our Resins

Our UV resistant seal coats prevent yellowing - especially in the lighter colours - from sunlight.

Floor Maintenance

Effective floor maintenance will ensure the longevity of your floors. Having experience that extends over 14 years, we consider the best method of maintaining these floors is using wet microfibre mops shorturl.at/cHW23 with copius amounts of warm water and a little detergent in conjunction using a wet vacuum system such as the Kärcher series WD4, WD5, WD6 https://www.kaercher.com/uk/.

These prove to be powerful, reliable and reasonably priced. This allows - if used regularly - the floor to be maintained in the best possible way. So the wet microfibre mop dissolves the dirt. The dirt is then suspended in the water and the wet vacuum sucks it up and removes it from the floor. Other gadgets may work but in our experience this is the most effective. To repeat the process with rinsing the floor with warm water will give a better finish and of course a secondary wash.
